Picture books are about 3, 5 or 8 minutes, with 4 to 10 pages. Listen-only stories are 5, 8 or 10 minutes, or any length from 2 to 20 minutes.

Every story is checked for your child’s age before they hear it. There’s nothing frightening for under 6s, and “a little bit scary” can only be chosen from age 6, always with a safe, warm ending.

Yes. Turn any story into a series of 2 to 10 nights, planned from the start so it builds to a proper ending.

Each night opens with a short recap and ends on a gentle cliffhanger, and the last night ends the way you chose.

Yes. Add what’s going on, like starting school or a new brother or sister, and choose it for a story when the time is right. It stays private to your family.

Never. We draw your child from a few simple choices, like hair, skin tone, glasses and favourite colours. We never ask for a photo, a surname or a date of birth.

From your choices we draw three pictures of your child, from the front, turned a little and with a few faces, in about a minute and a half. Every page uses them, so your child looks like your child all the way through.

Yes. Choose glasses, a hearing aid, a wheelchair or something else, like a walking frame, and we draw it in every picture, just as it is.

Only what you choose to tell us, and first names are fine. We never ask for a photo, a surname or a date of birth, and your child’s name never goes to the service that draws the pictures.

Every recording is stored encrypted, with a key unique to your family, and your family’s voices only ever read your family’s stories.

Each person gives their own permission before they record.

Yes. One download with your children’s profiles, every story and your voice permission records. We email you when it’s ready, you sign in to download it, and it’s kept for 7 days.

Go to Privacy and your data in Account and choose Delete your account. You confirm by typing “delete”, and every voice, story and child profile is deleted within 24 hours, including our voice partner’s copies.
