Grown-up voices only
Everyone who records confirms, in their own words, that they’re 18 or over before their voice can be used.
Your voice, your say
Every grown-up gives their own permission before we record them, and can delete their voice at any time.
Original stories, warm endings
No brands, no famous characters and nothing frightening for under 6s. Every story is written fresh and checked for your child’s age before they hear it.
First names only
We never ask for a photo of your child, their surname or their date of birth. A first name and a favourite colour is plenty for a great story.
Private to your family
Your voices, stories and pictures are only for your family. Anyone else hears a story only if you send them a private link.

Tap each step to see what happens to a voice recorded for BellaBye. It’s the same for Mum, Grandad or a friend on the other side of the world.
Permission comes first
Before anything is recorded, the person whose voice it is reads this and agrees to it in their own session. For a grandparent, that happens on their own phone.
Every story is checked
Before a story is written, we check what you’ve asked for. Before it reaches your child, we check the story too.
If a request worries us
Very occasionally, something in a request makes us want to check that everyone is OK. We stop the story, give your story back, and show where to find help.
You’re in control
Everything lives in your family’s account, and you can change or delete it whenever you like.
