How it works

From your voice to tonight's story.

Record once and tell us about your child. Then every night, a brand new story made just for them, read in your voice, is ready in about 4 minutes.

One free story in your own voice. No card needed.

One story, from hello to goodnight

Set up once, in a few minutes. After that, every night is a brand new story.

Step 1 · about 30 seconds, just once

Record your voice

Read a short story aloud on your phone, for about 30 seconds. We make a private copy of your voice that only your family's stories can use.

Read at your normal bedtime pace. Small stumbles are fine.
Your permission comes first, and you can delete your voice at any time.
Only grown-ups can record. Children only ever listen.
Can't be there at bedtime?Send Grandma a link by email. She records on her own phone in about 3 minutes, reading for about 30 seconds, with no app and no account. For family and friends →

Once upon a time, at the bottom of a quiet garden, there lived a hedgehog who collected moonbeams in a jam jar. "Goodnight, little star," he whispered.

Make it all about them

Their name, favourite colour, imaginary friend, the dog, family, best friends, hobbies they love and more. Tell us once, and every story remembers.

Only your family can see it, and you can change it any time.
We draw them once and keep them looking the same on every page. Their first drawing is free.
The words suit their reading age, from 2 right up to 12.

Lights down, story on

Night mode dims the screen to big, gentle controls. The words light up as your voice reads them, and the sleep timer lets the story fade away.

Night mode comes on by itself at 7pm, and you can switch it any time.
Play it again tomorrow, or download it as a picture book to print.
Works on any phone, tablet or computer, with no app to install.

Grace tiptoed to the window. Far below, the lighthouse blinked hello, once, twice, three times. Pickle gave a sleepy yawn.
